Skin Care Treatment For The Most Common Skin Conditions

ID-100247666

A glowing and healthy skin is an asset. This is why skin care should be dealt with in all seriousness. If you develop a skin-related dilemma, you would need an appropriate skin care treatment. Skin care treatment, for any skin disorder, starts with actions that are aimed at the prevention of the disorder. Building and following basic skin care procedures is what one could classify as preventive/proactive skin care treatment. However, skin disorders can still occur even if you have followed these preventive procedures. They do not guarantee immunity; they just reduce the probability of an occurrence or a breakout. Let’s check some of the common skin care treatments for some of the common skin conditions.

Acne is one of the most common skin problems. The first type of skin care treatment then is to control acne and prevent it from getting worse. Avoid tight clothes; they are known to cause body acne by trapping sweat. Avoid touching the blemishes for you might end up aggravating the condition. Also, do not try to scrub too hard or squeeze them. The use of mild cleansers is a recommended skin care treatment for acne. Obtain a natural treatment for acne if possible.

The skin care treatment of dry skin is generally easy. Moisturisers, if applied in the right way and in the right quantity, are the best form of skin care treatment for dry skin. For best results, apply moisturiser while your skin is still damp. Also, do not apply too much or too little moisturiser. In exceptional cases wherein you don’t notice any improvements in 3-4 weeks, you might have to visit your dermatologist for treatment.

Brown spots, which appear on sun-exposed areas of the skin such as the face and hands, are caused by over-exposure to UV radiations. As a skin care treatment for brown spots, use a sunscreen lotion which has a high SPF (sun protection factor), around 15.  This should be used irrespective of the weather. Another form of skin care treatment is covering up the exposed areas with clothing by using a cap, full sleeved shirts/t-shirts, or an umbrella.

If the general skin care treatment or the over-the-counter medication is not working for you, you should immediately consult your dermatologist for professional skin care treatment. You should also inform the doctor about the treatments and products that you have used. Based on the skin condition and the details of your skin care treatment(s), the dermatologist can then prescribe a skin care treatment that is suitable for you and you will then be on your way to a complete recovery.

Top 10 Skin Care Tips

ID-100129507Healthy skin is one of the most important ingredients for beauty-enhancement. This article on skin care tips aims to provide the 10 best skin care tips for you.  The list of skin care tips has been condensed because anything more than these would not only be difficult to remember, they would also overshadow the more important ones. Let’s see what these top ten skin care tips are.

Knowing your skin type is one of the most important skin care tip. This is important because not every skin care product suits everyone. In fact, all the skin care products specify the type of skin they cater too.

Drink lots of water. This will not only keep your skin moist but will help in the overall upkeep of your health (and in turn, your skin). It might seem a bit unpleasant to some. However, this is an important skin care tip.

Cleanse your skin regularly.  This is a very effective skin care tip that helps in getting rid of the dirt and other harsh elements from your skin. Cleansing is especially important when you have been out of your house (and hence, exposed to pollutants, dust, etc). This skin care tip also advocates the use of lukewarm water for cleansing.

Be gentle. After all, it’s your skin. Don’t scrub/exfoliate too hard or too often. Similarly, don’t apply too much or too many skin care products. This is a must-to-follow skin care tip.

Keep your skin moist at all times. This is one of the most important skin care tips.  Don’t let your skin get dry. Dryness causes the outer layer of your skin to break, leading to a rough and unattractive appearance. Use moisturisers/emollients. Moisturisers work best when applied while the skin is still damp.

Avoid the use of soap on your face. Soap should only be used from below the neck. This is a small but important skin care tip.

Use sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun’s harmful UV radiation. You can use daytime moisturisers that have sunscreen built into them. Use them even when it’s cloudy. UV radiation is known to cause skin cancer, so follow this skin care tip without fail.

A bit of exercise and good sleep are essential too, not just for skin care but for your health as a whole. Lack of sleep can lead to the formation of wrinkles below your eyes and the lack of exercise can cause your skin to sag. Moreover, exercise and sleep also help in beating stress.  So besides being a skin care tip, this is also a health care tip.

Treat skin dilemmas with care.  This skin care tip is about not ignoring any skin dilemmas. Consult your dermatologist before you make use of a skin care product (lest you do end up harming your skin even more).

Beat the stress. The harmful effects of stress are known to everyone. Sometimes though, stating the obvious is essential too (and hence this skin care tip found its place here). Yes, stress harms the skin too. So, take a break or indulge in a warm bubble bath or just get a good night’s sleep.

Are Natural Skin Care Products The Answer To All Your Skin Problems?

ID-100294249When it comes to skin care, you will find that a lot of people are very particular about making use of natural skin care products. They believe that synthetic products are harmful to the skin.

So, are natural skin care products the answer to all your skin problems? What if a natural skin care product is not available for the treatment of a particular skin disorder? Are synthetic skin care products really so harmful that they should be banned?

Different people have varied answers to these questions. However, the reality is that, due to the presence of synthetic preservatives, it’s really tough to find a natural skin care product that is 100% natural. There are natural skin care products that have natural preservatives, but their cost might be a deterrent to the common consumer. Moreover, such skin products have a shorter shelf life and hence, are not preferred by manufacturers.

Some people carry the wrong notion that since natural skin care products are natural, they cannot cause any harm to the skin. The suitability of a skin care product is not based on whether it is synthetic or natural. An unsuitable natural skin care product can harm you in almost the same way as a synthetic one. So, use natural skin care products, but be open to synthetic ones too. You might need them when a natural solution is not available at all.

Your selection of a natural skin care product should be based on 3 factors:

* The skin type of the person who will use the product

* The climatic conditions in which it will be used (e.g., a hot and humid environment would warranty the use of oil-free natural skin care products)

* The method of application/use of the product. A great natural skin care product can seem useless if not used in the proper way.

You can also create natural skin care products by yourself, using the recipes that are readily available on the internet and in the books at book stores.

ID-100206371The use of organic fruits and vegetables is also a popular natural skin care regimen. Some essential oils and herbal oils are also useful and are known for their moisturising and antiseptic properties.

However, using a natural skin care product does not mean that you can exercise carelessness with other aspects of your skin care. Natural skin care products should be used together with the following ‘essential’ recommendations: healthy eating habits, regular exercise, drinking lots of water, and maintaining overall cleanliness. This will then form a perfect and completely natural skin care routine that will help you maintain a healthy and beautiful skin for a long time.

Natural Skin Care

Put simply, natural skin care is caring for your skin in a natural and chemical-free way. It advocates the method of enabling the skin to take care of itself, without any assistance from synthetic materials/chemicals. It is about the inculcation of good habits into your day to day life. A lot of natural skin care measures are actually the same as those for your body care in general.

Let’s see what these natural skin care measures are.

The first, and one of the most important measures is – Drink lots of water.  Around 8 glasses of water is a must to consume every day. Water helps in flushing out the toxins from the body in a natural way. It helps in the overall upkeep of the body and promotes good health for all of your body organs.

ID-100158910General cleanliness is another inexpensive way of natural skin care.  Daily showers, wearing of clean clothes, and sleeping on a clean mattress/pillow are all parts of general cleanliness. After all, clean skin is the key to keeping skin disorders at bay.

Regular exercise is the next thing to bear in mind in order to care for the skin naturally. Exercise increases the flow of blood that helps in getting rid of the body’s toxins and in keeping you healthy.  Exercise also helps in beating stress, the worst enemy of good health.

Healthy food and eating habits are also recommended for natural skin care.  Oily foods, in particular, are known to cause acne and should be avoided as much as possible. Your diet should be a healthy mix of various nutrient providing foods. Raw fruits and vegetables are known to provide fresh and essential nutrients to your body and they help in getting rid of body wastes.

A good sleep is also instrumental in maintaining good health and in beating stress. As a natural skin care measure, a good sleep delays the sagging of your skin.

Beating stress is another natural skin care therapy. Stress causes overall damage to your body and health. Drinking lots of water, getting a sound sleep, and exercise have already been mentioned as stress busters. Indulging in a warm bubble bath, playing your favourite sport, and listening to music are also good ways of beating stress. Yoga is yet another way of beating stress. It is fast gaining popularity amongst the masses.

Avoiding excessive exposure to the sun is also another natural skin care strategy. Sunscreen lotions are recommended protective measures against excessive sun exposure.

product-rangeThere are also a lot of traditional and homemade natural skin care products that are known to be very effective in maintaining a healthy skin. Examples of these products are those that contain aloe vera, lemon myrtle, and essential oils such as macadamia and jojoba oil. Such products are not only natural and safe to use, but they are also relatively inexpensive.

Whichever of these measures and products you decide to make use of in order to take care of your skin naturally, bear in mind that above all, a healthy diet and lifestyle is still the most naturally effective way to obtain and maintain good health over all.

Get Rid Of Warts The Natural Way – Part 2

There are many natural treatments that can be used to get rid of warts. While treating them with chemical based creams and treatments is an option, doing so naturally can be just as effective as well.

Earlier, we have enumerated several methods on how to get rid of warts the natural way. Here are some other natural methods as well.

Cantharidin

Cantharidin is a poisonous chemical compound secreted by the male blister beetle or the Spanish fly. Take note though, that as little as 10 mg of cantharidin is potentially fatal, so extra care is needed to prevent ingestion of the substance. When diluted, however, it is highly effective in removing warts because it is a powerful blistering agent that literally ‘burns’ the wart out.

Generally, there will be no pain or discomfort during the time of the cantharidin’s application. However, three to eight hours later, once the wart starts blistering, some discomfort or pain will be felt. After applying cantharidin to the wart, cover it with bandaid or a bandage and remove it after 24 hours.

Treatment may not be 100% successful during the first time, so re-application may be necessary in order to banish the wart completely.

Echinacea

Echinacea is a well-known herbal remedy that is extracted from the purple cone flower indigenous to North America. It has been used for many centuries as treatment to a wide range of medical complaints due to its general medicinal qualities. It has the ability to boost the strength of the immune system and to help ward off viral infections.

While it is primarily viewed as treatment to winter conditions like colds and flu, it is also a natural antibiotic that is effective in treating infections and fighting off bacteria. It is known to boost the immune system which will help the body get rid of warts naturally.

Cryotherapy

The freezing of warts is generally considered to be one of the most effective natural wart treatments. However, it is quite costly compared to the other natural methods.

The process also involves the use of liquid nitrogen to freeze the wart, including the skin around it. The application of liquid nitrogen using a spray or a cotton swab is relatively fast and easy, but it can be quite a painful way of having your warts removed. This is why cryotherapy is usually administered by a healthcare professional and a local anesthetic is used. The pain from cryotherapy can also last up to three days, and several treatments may need to be done to eradicate the wart completely.

Although cryotherapy is an effective method to get rid of warts the natural way, it is no more effective than the other natural methods previously enumerated, such as the use of banana skins. Therefore, it would be best to make use of the other natural methods before resorting to cryotherapy.

Vitamin E Oil and Garlic

ID-100238687Vitamin E is generally obtained from vegetable oil and is believed to be a powerful antioxidant and helps get rid of warts. It also helps promote skin regeneration, which makes it highly effective in preventing a scar after a wart has been removed.

Additionally, garlic is believed to boost the immune system, making your body far more resistant to warts. Combining both natural methods is a highly effective method in getting rid of warts naturally.

Because everyone is different, it is quite difficult to know which of these natural treatment methods will be most effective for you. It would be better to try the easiest method first. While this can be dealt with medically, getting rid of warts within the comfort of your own home is preferable to seeking medical attention. This is why getting rid of warts the natural way is a much better approach, and a far safer one.
